Short-term
Courses in Canada

Not every pathway needs a 4-year degree. Short-term Canadian programs can build skills, boost your credentials, and open doors to longer-term immigration options.

Is this right for you?

Short-term courses suit specific goals. This service is a good fit if:

You want to gain Canadian credentials quickly without a multi-year commitment
You're upskilling in a specific industry (tech, healthcare, trades, business)
You want to explore Canada before committing to a full degree program
You're planning a longer immigration pathway and need an entry point
You need a program that qualifies for PGWP (must be 8+ months at a DLI)
You're seeking a degree-level qualification for professional licensing
Important: Programs under 6 months may not require a study permit. Programs over 6 months at a DLI require a full study permit. We advise on which applies to your program.

Short-term Courses — Common Questions

Programs 6 months or shorter generally do not require a study permit — you can attend as a visitor. Programs over 6 months require a study permit. We confirm exactly which applies before you apply.
It depends on the program and your goals. Some short-term credentials contribute to CRS points or open employer-sponsored PR pathways. We assess your specific situation and advise honestly.
Generally no — visitor visa holders cannot work in Canada. If your program requires a study permit, you may be able to work part-time off-campus. We clarify this for your specific program.
We shortlist institutions based on your target industry, location preference, budget, and program reputation. We only recommend DLI-approved institutions with recognized credentials.
Options vary: find employer sponsorship, apply for a different work permit, return for a longer program, or use Canadian work experience toward PR. We map this out with you during consultation.
