Are you eligible for PGWP?

PGWP eligibility has specific requirements — a missed condition means a refused application. Check yours here:

Your program was at least 8 months long
You held a valid study permit for most of your program
You are applying within 180 days of receiving final grades
You studied at a non-DLI institution or online-only program
You already held a PGWP previously (only granted once)

Unsure about your DLI status? Send us your institution name and we'll confirm instantly.

PGWP — Common Questions

Current IRCC processing averages 60–180 days. Processing times fluctuate — we monitor them and advise you on whether to apply inside or outside Canada based on current wait times.
You must apply for your PGWP within 180 days of receiving written confirmation of your final grades (e.g., your official transcript or completion letter). Missing this window means you must leave Canada.
Yes — if you held a valid study permit that allowed work and your permit was valid on the day you graduated. You can work until IRCC makes a decision under the implied status rule.
It matches the length of your study program, up to a maximum of 3 years. An 8-month certificate earns an 8-month PGWP; a 2-year degree earns a 2-year PGWP; 3+ years earns the maximum 3 years.
If your PGWP is 16+ months, your spouse may qualify for a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP). We can handle both applications simultaneously — see our SOWP service.

Your 180 days start at graduation.
